  • Big Talker 1210 host Dr. Chuck Williams, PhD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Drexel University and the Director of Drexel's Center for the Prevention of School-Aged Violence. Dr. Chuck and guests will analyze the causes of violent behavior in school aged children and take a comprehensive look at ways to correct the problem.

Drexel's Center for the Prevention of School-Age Violence
The mission of the Center is to create public awareness around the need for youth-focused, collaborative and community supported efforts aimed at preventing youth violence. Our vision is to ensure that all youth possess the requisite social and cognitive skills to prevent violence on their own. The Center feels that it can accomplish its mission and vision via three main goals: research, policy advocacy and youth-focused evidence-based programming



 





Dr. Chuck Williams, PhD and Director of Drexel's Center for the Prevention of School-Age Violence works in violence prevention include :
  • Worked in the Mayor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.>/li>
  • Drafted the Community Mobilization and Response Plan (C-MARP), which was submitted to the White House Executive Office of the President by Drug Czar and Police Commissioner, as a best practices mode for crime prevention.
  • Former Co-chair of Philadelphia, Against , Drugs Guns and Violence.
  • Collaborated with District Attorney and US Attorney to promote Operation Ceasefire.
  • Works to combat youth gang violence with the project Exhoodus, featuring Bill Cosby.
  • Has had several editorials featured in the Daily News and Inquirer related to crime and violence prevention – one was endorsed by a state law enforcement group.
