Pa.-based film production company moving to Mich.

Friday, November 06, 2009

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) A film and television production company started by former NBA player Dale Davis is moving from Pittsburgh to suburban Detroit.

Allen Park-based Unity Studios announced Friday that Davis' WAR Entertainment plans a full slate of productions next year.

WAR's first project is a children's show to be filmed this winter at Unity Studios. A feature film about basketball will begin shooting in the spring.

Davis played for the Indiana Pacers, Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors and the Detroit Pistons. He is founder and CEO of WAR Entertainment.

He says part of the reason for the move is Michigan's film tax incentives, which are among the most generous in the nation.
