I was honored to do an exclusive interview with General Petraeus in August. Out of roughly 5,000 interviews that I have conducted this was the best and most meaningful. I went away from with a great sense of thanks that this brilliant man was commanding our forces in Iraq.
As a result of the interview and my reference to General Petraeus' daily running regimen of 5 miles in the heat of Iraq, we started to correspond about our running progress. I told him that I felt like a slacker for running only two milies a day. He encouraged me with some Rocky references.
The next thing that I know I have been invited for a private run with General Petraeus on September 15th at his home military base outside of Washington. I am training for 2 to 3 miles at an 8 :30 pace per mile. The General will probably do 6 to 8 milies.
I will be taking some special gifts that YOU my Big Talker listeners have suggested. I will be doing a special podcast that you can get from our wsebsite after the run.
